In 1993 the Ho Group in joint venture with the Bayoike Group built this beautiful Teak Palace Hotel. The new Lake Side wing blending with the old charm is architecturally Myanmar with all modern comforts and luxuries. The original Kandawgyi building was opened in1934 as the Rangoon Rowing Club. England's Prince Edward visited this club before traveling to pagan now known as Bagan. The land of the hotel has also been at one time the National Biological Museum Garden. It is a beautiful and natural, Rain Forest Garden with some trees that are over a hundred years old. Kandawgyi Palace Hotel is situated on the Royal Lake in the center of Yangon.
